I spend most of my time trying to secure Snigdha class train tickets before they completely sell out. When I am not on a bus somewhere between Dhaka and Natore, I am usually trying to figure out how to pack a lighter bag.

I have a terrible habit of trusting online bus schedules. Last month I stood at a transit counter for an hour because my Shohoz booking simply disappeared from the system. I ended up on a Shyamoli bus in the very back row right next to the engine. My ears rang for a day and a half. That was when I started keeping a physical notebook of routes that actually work.

The ticket panic People act like overland travel is a glamorous adventure. It is actually just a lot of refreshing web pages and hoping your payment goes through. I spent my twenties pretending I liked overnight buses. Now I just want a guaranteed seat and a window that closes all the way. I test out different transit lines. I try to figure out the exact minute the Bangladesh Railway releases S_CHAIR tickets. Sometimes I get a good seat. Sometimes I end up standing in the aisle for three hours.

What goes on here I keep track of the routes I take and the mistakes I make along the way. You will see notes on booking Akota and Hanif buses, comparing train classes, and how to pack a bag that you can actually lift over your head. I write about the practical side of getting from one city to another. I skip the luxury resort reviews. I am not going to tell you how to find yourself on a beach.

Just a passenger I am not a travel agent or a full-time nomad. I do not have sponsors paying for my tickets. Everything I write is just my own trial and error on the road. If a route is terrible, I will say it is terrible. I am just figuring out the transit system, and keeping a record of it here.
